What is an MPAN?

The Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN), sometimes called the Supply Number or S-Number, is a unique 21-digit identifier assigned to every electricity metering point in Great Britain.

MPAN Structure

An MPAN consists of two parts:

Core MPAN (13 digits)

The unique identifier displayed on electricity bills:

12 345 6789 012

Full MPAN (21 digits)

Additional technical information:

S 12 345 6789 012 345 67890

Including: Profile Class, Meter Time Switch Code, Line Loss Factor Class, and Distributor ID.

Where to Find an MPAN
